8:1 บัดนี้ ในเรื่องที่เราพูดมาแล้วนั้น ข้อสรุปนั้นคือว่า เรามีมหาปุโรหิตอย่างนี้เอง ผู้ได้ประทับเบื้องขวาพระที่นั่งแห่งผู้ทรงเดชานุภาพในฟ้าสวรรค์
8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
8:2 เป็นผู้ปฏิบัติกิจในสถานบริสุทธิ์ และในพลับพลาแท้ซึ่งองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้ทรงตั้งไว้ ไม่ใช่มนุษย์ตั้ง
8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
8:3 เพราะว่าทรงตั้งมหาปุโรหิตทุกคนขึ้นเพื่อให้ถวายของกำนัลและเครื่องบูชา ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงจำเป็นที่มหาปุโรหิตผู้นี้ต้องมีสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดถวายด้วย
8:3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
8:4 เพราะถ้าพระองค์ทรงอยู่ในโลก พระองค์ก็จะไม่ได้ทรงเป็นปุโรหิต เพราะว่ามีปุโรหิตที่ถวายของกำนัลตามพระราชบัญญัติอยู่แล้ว
8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
8:5 ปุโรหิตเหล่านั้นปฏิบัติตามแบบและเงาแห่งสิ่งเหล่านั้นที่อยู่ในสวรรค์ เหมือนพระเจ้าได้ทรงสั่งแก่โมเสสครั้นเมื่อท่านจะสร้างพลับพลานั้นว่า `ดูเถิด จงทำทุกสิ่งตามแบบอย่างที่เราแจ้งแก่ท่านบนภูเขา'
8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
8:6 แต่ว่าพระองค์ได้ทรงเป็นคนกลางแห่งพันธสัญญาอันประเสริฐกว่าเก่า เพราะได้ทรงตั้งขึ้นโดยพระสัญญาอันดีกว่าเก่าเท่าใด บัดนี้พระองค์ก็ได้ตำแหน่งอันเลิศกว่าเก่าเท่านั้น
8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
8:7 เพราะว่าถ้าพันธสัญญาเดิมนั้นไม่มีข้อบกพร่องแล้ว ก็ไม่จำเป็นที่จะต้องมีพันธสัญญาที่สองอีก
8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8:8 ด้วยว่าพระเจ้าตรัสติเขาว่า `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า "ดูเถิด วันเวลาจะมาถึง ซึ่งเราจะทำพันธสัญญาใหม่กับวงศ์วานอิสราเอล และวงศ์วานยูดาห์
8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
8:9 ไม่เหมือนกับพันธสัญญาซึ่งเราได้กระทำกับบรรพบุรุษของเขาทั้งหลาย เมื่อเราจูงมือเขาเพื่อนำเขาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เพราะว่าเขาเหล่านั้นไม่ได้มั่นอยู่ในพันธสัญญาของเราอีกต่อไปแล้ว เราจึงได้ละเขาไว้" องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสดังนี้แหละ
8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
8:10 "นี่คือพันธสัญญาซึ่งเราจะกระทำกับวงศ์วานอิสราเอลภายหลังสมัยนั้น" องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัส "เราจะบรรจุราชบัญญัติของเราไว้ในจิตใจของเขาทั้งหลาย และจะจารึกมันไว้ที่ในดวงใจของเขาทั้งหลาย และเราจะเป็นพระเจ้าของเขา และเขาจะเป็นประชาชนของเรา
8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
8:11 และทุกคนจะไม่สอนเพื่อนบ้านของตนและพี่น้องของตนแต่ละคนอีกว่า `จงรู้จักองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า' เพราะเขาทั้งหลายจะรู้จักเราหมด ตั้งแต่คนต่ำต้อยที่สุดถึงคนใหญ่โตที่สุด
8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
8:12 เพราะเราจะกรุณาต่อการอธรรมของเขา และจะไม่จดจำบาปและความชั่วช้าของเขาอีกต่อไป"'
8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
8:13 เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสถึง "พันธสัญญาใหม่" พระองค์ทรงถือว่า พันธสัญญาเดิมนั้นพ้นสมัยไปแล้ว และสิ่งที่พ้นสมัยและเก่าไปแล้วนั้น ก็พร้อมที่จะเสื่อมสูญไป
8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
