2:1 ฝ่ายท่านจงสั่งสอนให้สอดคล้องกับคำสอนอันถูกต้อง
2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2:2 พึงสอนชายที่สูงอายุให้รู้จักประมาณตนในการกินดื่ม ให้เอาจริงเอาจัง ให้มีสติสัมปชัญญะ ให้มีความเชื่อ ความรัก และความอดทนอันถูกต้อง
2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
2:3 ส่วนผู้หญิงที่สูงอายุก็เหมือนกัน ให้เขามีการประพฤติอย่างบริสุทธิ์ อย่าให้เป็นคนใส่ความเท็จ ไม่เป็นคนที่สนใจเหล้าองุ่นมาก แต่ให้เป็นผู้สอนสิ่งที่ดีงาม
2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
2:4 เพื่อเขาจะได้ฝึกสอนพวกผู้หญิงสาวๆให้รู้จักประมาณตนในการกินดื่ม ให้รักสามีและรักบุตรของตน
2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
2:5 ให้มีสติสัมปชัญญะ เป็นคนบริสุทธิ์ เอาใจใส่ในบ้านเรือน เป็นคนดี และเชื่อฟังสามีของตน เช่นนี้จึงจะไม่มีผู้ใดลบหลู่พระวจนะของพระเจ้าได้
2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
2:6 ส่วนผู้ชายหนุ่มก็เหมือนกัน จงเตือนเขาให้ใช้สติสัมปชัญญะ
2:6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
2:7 ท่านจงสำแดงตนให้เป็นแบบอย่างในการดีทุกสิ่ง ในคำสอนจงแสดงความสุจริต ให้เอาจริงเอาจัง ให้จริงใจ
2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
2:8 และใช้คำพูดอันถูกต้อง ซึ่งไม่มีผู้ใดจะตำหนิได้ เพื่อฝ่ายปฏิปักษ์จะได้อาย ไม่มีสิ่งใดจะติท่านได้
2:8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
2:9 จงตักเตือนพวกทาสให้เชื่อฟังนายของตน และให้กระทำสิ่งที่ถูกใจนายทุกประการ อย่าให้เถียงเลย
2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
2:10 อย่าให้ยักยอก แต่ให้สัตย์ซื่อหมดทุกอย่าง เพื่อว่าในการทั้งปวงนั้น เขาจะได้เทิดเกียรติพระดำรัสสอนของพระเจ้า ผู้ทรงเป็นพระผู้ช่วยให้รอดของเรา
2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
2:11 เพราะว่าพระคุณของพระเจ้าที่นำไปถึงความรอดได้ปรากฏแก่คนทั้งปวงแล้ว
2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
2:12 สอนให้เราละทิ้งความอธรรมและโลกียตัณหา และดำเนินชีวิตในโลกปัจจุบันนี้อย่างมีสติสัมปชัญญะ อย่างชอบธรรม และตามทางพระเจ้า
2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
2:13 คอยความหวังอันมีสุข และการปรากฏอันทรงสง่าราศีของพระเจ้าใหญ่ยิ่ง และพระเยซูคริสต์พระผู้ช่วยให้รอดของเรา
2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
2:14 ผู้ได้ทรงโปรดประทานพระองค์เองให้เรา เพื่อไถ่เราให้พ้นจากความชั่วช้าทุกอย่าง และทรงชำระเราให้บริสุทธิ์ เพื่อให้เป็นหมู่ชนพิเศษเฉพาะของพระองค์ และเป็นคนที่ขวนขวายกระทำการดี
2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
2:15 ข้อความเหล่านี้ ท่านจงใช้พูด ตักเตือน และว่ากล่าวเขาด้วยสิทธิอำนาจทุกอย่าง อย่าให้ผู้ใดประมาทท่านได้
2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
