4:1 ให้ทุกคนถือว่าเราเป็นผู้รับใช้ของพระคริสต์ และเป็นผู้อารักขาสิ่งลึกลับของพระเจ้า
4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
4:2 ยิ่งกว่านี้ฝ่ายผู้อารักขาเหล่านั้นต้องเป็นคนที่สัตย์ซื่อทุกคน
4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
4:3 สำหรับข้าพเจ้าการที่ท่านทั้งหลายหรือมนุษย์ผู้ใดจะตัดสินตัวข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าถือว่าเป็นเรื่องเล็กน้อย ถึงแม้ข้าพเจ้าเองก็มิได้ตัดสินตัวข้าพเจ้า
4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4:4 เพราะข้าพเจ้าไม่รู้ว่าข้าพเจ้ามีความผิดสถานใด ถึงกระนั้นข้าพเจ้าก็ไม่พ้นการพิพากษา ท่านผู้ทรงพิพากษาตัวข้าพเจ้าคือองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
4:4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
4:5 เหตุฉะนั้นท่านอย่าตัดสินสิ่งใดก่อนที่จะถึงเวลาจนกว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะเสด็จมา พระองค์จะทรงเปิดเผยความลับที่ซ่อนอยู่ในความมืดให้แจ่มกระจ่าง และจะทรงเผยความในใจของคนทั้งปวงด้วย เมื่อนั้นทุกคนจะได้รับคำชมเชยจากพระเจ้า
4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
4:6 พี่น้องทั้งหลาย สิ่งเหล่านั้นที่ข้าพเจ้าได้นำมากล่าวเปรียบเทียบถึงตัวข้าพเจ้าและอปอลโล ก็เพื่อประโยชน์ของท่านทั้งหลาย เพื่อให้ท่านทั้งหลายเรียนแบบของเรา มิให้ยกย่องคนหนึ่งคนใดเกินกว่าที่เขียนบอกไว้แล้ว มิให้ยกคนหนึ่งคนใดข่มผู้อื่น
4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
4:7 ผู้ใดเล่ากระทำให้ท่านวิเศษกว่าคนอื่น ท่านมีอะไรที่ท่านมิได้รับมา ก็เมื่อท่านได้รับมา เหตุไฉนท่านจึงโอ้อวดเหมือนกับว่าท่านมิได้รับเลย
4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
4:8 ท่านทั้งหลายอิ่มหนำแล้วหนอ ท่านมั่งมีแล้วหนอ ท่านได้ครองเหมือนกษัตริย์โดยไม่มีเราร่วมด้วยแล้วหนอ ข้าพเจ้ามีความปรารถนาให้ท่านทั้งหลายได้ขึ้นครองจริงๆเพื่อเราจะได้ขึ้นครองกับท่าน
4:8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.
4:9 เพราะข้าพเจ้าเห็นว่าพระเจ้าได้ทรงตั้งเราผู้เป็นอัครสาวกไว้ในที่สุดปลาย เหมือนผู้ที่ได้ถูกปรับโทษให้ถึงตาย เพราะว่าโลกคือทั้งทูตสวรรค์และมนุษย์มองดูเราด้วยความพิศวง
4:9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
4:10 เราทั้งหลายเป็นคนเขลาเพราะเห็นแก่พระคริสต์ และท่านทั้งหลายเป็นคนมีปัญญาในพระคริสต์ เราทั้งหลายมีกำลังน้อยแต่ท่านทั้งหลายมีกำลังมาก ท่านทั้งหลายมีเกียรติยศแต่เราทั้งหลายเป็นคนอัปยศ
4:10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.
4:11 จนถึงเวลานี้เราก็ทั้งหิวและกระหาย เปลือยเปล่าและถูกโบยตี และไม่มีที่อาศัยเป็นหลักแหล่ง
4:11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
4:12 เราทำการหนักด้วยมือของเราเอง เมื่อถูกด่าเราก็อวยพร เมื่อถูกข่มเหงเราก็ทนเอา
4:12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
4:13 เมื่อถูกใส่ร้ายเราก็อ้อนวอน เรากลายเป็นเหมือนกากเดนของโลกและเหมือนราคีของสิ่งสารพัดจนถึงบัดนี้
4:13 Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
4:14 ข้าพเจ้ามิได้เขียนข้อความเหล่านี้เพื่อจะให้ท่านได้อาย แต่เขียนเพื่อเตือนสติในฐานะที่ท่านเป็นลูกที่รักของข้าพเจ้า
4:14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
4:15 เพราะในพระคริสต์ถึงแม้ท่านมีครูสักหมื่นคนแต่ท่านจะมีบิดาหลายคนก็หามิได้ เพราะว่าในพระเยซูคริสต์ข้าพเจ้าได้ให้กำเนิดแก่ท่านโดยข่าวประเสริฐ
4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
4:16 เหตุฉะนั้น ข้าพเจ้าจึงขอให้ท่านทำตามอย่างข้าพเจ้า
4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
4:17 เพราะเหตุนี้ข้าพเจ้าจึงได้ใช้ทิโมธีลูกที่รักของข้าพเจ้า ซึ่งเป็นคนสัตย์ซื่อในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าให้มาหาท่าน เพื่อนำท่านให้ระลึกถึงแบบการประพฤติของข้าพเจ้าในพระคริสต์ ตามที่ข้าพเจ้าสอนอยู่ในทุกคริสตจักร
4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
4:18 แต่บางคนทำผยองราวกับข้าพเจ้าจะไม่มาหาท่าน
4:18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
4:19 แต่ถ้าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงโปรด ข้าพเจ้าจะมาหาท่านในไม่ช้านี้ และข้าพเจ้าจะหยั่งดู มิใช่ถ้อยคำของคนที่ผยองเหล่านั้นแต่จะหยั่งดูฤทธิ์อำนาจของเขา
4:19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
4:20 เพราะว่าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้ามิใช่เรื่องของคำพูดแต่เป็นเรื่องฤทธิ์เดช
4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
4:21 ท่านจะเอาอย่างไร จะให้ข้าพเจ้าถือไม้เรียวมาหาท่าน หรือจะให้ข้าพเจ้ามาด้วยความรักและด้วยใจอ่อนสุภาพ
4:21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
