23:1 บาลาอัมพูดกับบาลาคว่า "ท่านจงสร้างแท่นบูชาให้ข้าพเจ้าที่นี่เจ็ดแท่น และจัดวัวผู้เจ็ดตัว แกะผู้เจ็ดตัวให้ข้าพเจ้า"
23:1 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.
23:2 บาลาคก็กระทำตามคำของบาลาอัม บาลาคและบาลาอัมเอาวัวผู้ตัวหนึ่งแกะผู้ตัวหนึ่งกระทำบูชาที่แท่นบูชาทุกแท่น
23:2 And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.
23:3 แล้วบาลาอัมพูดกับบาลาคว่า "จงยืนอยู่ใกล้เครื่องเผาบูชาของท่านแล้วข้าพเจ้าจะไป ชะรอยพระเยโฮวาห์จะเสด็จมาหาข้าพเจ้า และสิ่งใดที่พระองค์สำแดงแก่ข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจะบอกท่าน" แล้วเขาก็ขึ้นไปยังที่สูง
23:3 And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he showeth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.
23:4 พระเจ้าทรงพบกับบาลาอัม และบาลาอัมกราบทูลพระองค์ว่า "ข้าพระองค์ได้จัดแท่นบูชาเจ็ดแท่น ทั้งได้จัดวัวผู้ตัวหนึ่งและแกะผู้ตัวหนึ่งบูชาอยู่ทุกแท่น"
23:4 And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.
23:5 พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงใส่ถ้อยคำในปากของบาลาอัมและตรัสว่า "จงกลับไปหาบาลาคแล้วจงพูดอย่างนั้น"
23:5 And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.
23:6 บาลาอัมจึงกลับไปหาบาลาค และดูเถิด บาลาคกับบรรดาเจ้านายแห่งโมอับยืนอยู่ที่ข้างเครื่องเผาบูชาของท่าน
23:6 And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.
23:7 บาลาอัมได้กล่าวกลอนภาษิตของเขาว่า "บาลาคได้พาข้าพเจ้ามาจากอารัม ท่านกษัตริย์ของโมอับได้พาข้าพเจ้ามาจากภูเขาทางตะวันออก กล่าวว่า `มาเถิด มาแช่งยาโคบเพื่อข้าพเจ้า มาเถิด มาประณามอิสราเอล'
23:7 And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
23:8 ข้าพเจ้าจะแช่งผู้ที่พระเจ้าไม่ทรงแช่งได้อย่างไร ข้าพเจ้าจะประณามผู้ที่พระเยโฮวาห์ไม่ทรงประณามได้อย่างไร
23:8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?
23:9 เพราะข้าพเจ้าได้ดูเขาจากยอดผา จากเนินสูงข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นเขาแน่ะ ดูเถิด ชนชาติหนึ่งอยู่ลำพังและมิได้นับเข้าในหมู่ประชาชาติ
23:9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
23:10 ใครจะนับผงคลีดินของยาโคบได้ หรือนับหนึ่งในสี่ของอิสราเอลได้ ขอให้ข้าพเจ้าตายอย่างคนชอบธรรม และขอให้สุดปลายชีวิตของข้าพเจ้าเหมือนอย่างของเขา"
23:10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!
23:11 แล้วบาลาคพูดกับบาลาอัมว่า "ท่านได้กระทำอะไรแก่เราเล่า เราเชิญท่านให้มาแช่งพวกศัตรูของเรา ดูเถิด ท่านไม่ได้กระทำอะไรแก่เขานอกจากอวยพรเขา"
23:11 And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.
23:12 เขาจึงตอบว่า "ข้าพเจ้าไม่ต้องระวังที่จะกล่าวคำซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ใส่ในปากข้าพเจ้าหรือ"
23:12 And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?
23:13 บาลาคพูดกับเขาว่า "เชิญท่านไปอีกที่หนึ่งกับข้าพเจ้าเถิด ซึ่งท่านจะดูเขาจากที่นั่นได้ ท่านจะเห็นเพียงส่วนที่ใกล้ที่สุด และจะไม่เห็นคนทั้งหมด จากที่นั่นท่านจงแช่งเขาทั้งหลายให้ข้าพเจ้าเถิด"
23:13 And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.
23:14 แล้วบาลาคก็พาบาลาอัมมาถึงนาของโศฟิม ขึ้นถึงยอดเขาปิสกาห์ สร้างแท่นบูชาเจ็ดแท่น และจัดวัวผู้ตัวหนึ่งและแกะผู้ตัวหนึ่งบูชาอยู่บนทุกแท่น
23:14 And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
23:15 บาลาอัมพูดกับบาลาคว่า "จงยืนอยู่ข้างเครื่องเผาบูชาของท่านเถิด ขณะที่ข้าพเจ้าไปพบพระเยโฮวาห์ตรงโน้น"
23:15 And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.
23:16 แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพบบาลาอัมและทรงใส่ถ้อยคำในปากของเขาตรัสว่า "จงกลับไปหาบาลาค และจงพูดอย่างนั้น"
23:16 And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.
23:17 บาลาอัมก็กลับมาหาบาลาค ดูเถิด เขายืนอยู่ข้างเครื่องเผาบูชาของท่าน มีเจ้านายแห่งโมอับยืนอยู่กับท่าน บาลาคจึงถามเขาว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่ากระไร"
23:17 And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?
23:18 บาลาอัมก็ได้กล่าวกลอนภาษิตของเขาว่า "บาลาค ลุกขึ้นเถิดและคอยฟัง บุตรชายของศิปโปร์ จงฟังข้าพเจ้าเถิด
23:18 And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor:
23:19 พระเจ้ามิใช่มนุษย์จึงมิได้มุสา และมิได้เป็นบุตรของมนุษย์จึงไม่ต้องกลับใจ ที่พระองค์ตรัสไปแล้ว พระองค์ก็จะมิทรงกระทำตามหรือ ที่พระองค์ทรงลั่นวาจาแล้ว จะไม่ทรงกระทำให้สำเร็จหรือ
23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
23:20 ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าได้รับพระบัญชาให้อวยพร พระองค์ได้ทรงอำนวยพร และข้าพเจ้าจะเรียกกลับไม่ได้
23:20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
23:21 พระองค์ได้ทอดพระเนตรว่าไม่มีความชั่วช้าในยาโคบ และทรงเห็นว่าไม่มีความชั่วร้ายในอิสราเอล พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขาอยู่กับเขา และเสียงโห่ร้องถวายพรพระมหากษัตริย์อยู่ท่ามกลางเขา
23:21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
23:22 พระเจ้าทรงนำพวกเขาออกจากอียิปต์ พระองค์ทรงเป็นเสมือนพลังแห่งม้ายูนิคอน
23:22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.
23:23 ไม่มีการถือลางต่อต้านยาโคบ ไม่มีการทำนายต่อต้านอิสราเอล ถึงเวลาแล้วยาโคบและอิสราเอลก็จะได้รับคำบอกว่า `พระเจ้าจะทรงกระทำอะไร'
23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
23:24 ดูเถิด ชนชาติหนึ่งซึ่งลุกขึ้นอย่างสิงโตผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ และยืนขึ้นอย่างสิงโตหนุ่ม ไม่ยอมนอนจนกว่าจะกินเหยื่อเสีย และดื่มเลือดของสิ่งที่ฆ่าตาย"
23:24 Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
23:25 แล้วบาลาคจึงพูดกับบาลาอัม "อย่าแช่งเขาเลย ทั้งอย่าอวยพรแก่เขา"
23:25 And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.
23:26 แต่บาลาอัมตอบบาลาคว่า "ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้บอกท่านแล้วหรือว่า `ทุกสิ่งที่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัส ข้าพเจ้าจะต้องกระทำตาม'"
23:26 But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?
23:27 บาลาคจึงพูดกับบาลาอัมว่า "มาเถิด ข้าพเจ้าจะพาท่านไปอีกที่หนึ่ง ชะรอยพระเจ้าจะทรงโปรดให้ท่านแช่งเขาเพื่อข้าพเจ้าจากที่นั่น"
23:27 And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.
23:28 บาลาคก็พาบาลาอัมไปถึงยอดเขาเปโอร์ ซึ่งมองลงมาเห็นเยชิโมน
23:28 And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.
23:29 แล้วบาลาอัมบอกกับบาลาคว่า "จงสร้างแท่นบูชาที่นี่เจ็ดแท่นให้ข้าพเจ้า จัดวัวผู้เจ็ดตัวและแกะผู้เจ็ดตัวให้ข้าพเจ้าที่นี่"
23:29 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.
23:30 บาลาคจึงกระทำตามที่บาลาอัมได้บอก และถวายบูชาวัวผู้ตัวหนึ่งและแกะผู้ตัวหนึ่งบนแท่นทุกแท่น
23:30 And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
