11:1 เมื่อเรโหโบอัมมายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็มแล้ว พระองค์ได้ทรงรวบรวมวงศ์วานยูดาห์และเบนยามิน เป็นนักรบที่คัดเลือกแล้วหนึ่งแสนแปดหมื่นคน เพื่อจะสู้รบกับอิสราเอล หมายจะเอาราชอาณาจักรคืนมาให้แก่เรโหโบอัม
11:1 And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
11:2 แต่พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังเชไมอาห์คนของพระเจ้าว่า
11:2 But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
11:3 "จงไปทูลเรโหโบอัมโอรสของซาโลมอนกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ และบอกแก่อิสราเอลทั้งปวงในยูดาห์และเบนยามินว่า
11:3 Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
11:4 `พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าอย่าขึ้นไปสู้รบกับพี่น้องของเจ้า จงกลับไปบ้านของตนทุกคนเถิด เพราะสิ่งนี้เป็นมาจากเรา'" เขาทั้งหลายก็เชื่อฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ และกลับไป ไม่ได้สู้รบกับเยโรโบอัม
11:4 Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
11:5 และเรโหโบอัมประทับในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และพระองค์ทรงสร้างหัวเมืองเพื่อป้องกันในยูดาห์
11:5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah.
11:6 พระองค์ทรงสร้างเมืองเบธเลเฮม เอตาม เทโคอา
11:6 He built even Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
11:7 เบธซูร์ โสโค อดุลลัม
11:7 And Bethzur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
11:8 กัท มาเรชาห์ และศิฟ
11:8 And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
11:9 อาโดราอิม ลาคีช และอาเซคาห์
11:9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
11:10 โศราห์ อัยยาโลน และเฮโบรน หัวเมืองซึ่งมีป้อมที่อยู่ในยูดาห์และในเบนยามิน
11:10 And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.
11:11 พระองค์ทรงเสริมป้อมปราการให้แข็งแกร่ง และส่งผู้บังคับบัญชาไปประจำการในป้อมเหล่านั้น และทรงสะสมเสบียงอาหาร น้ำมัน และน้ำองุ่น
11:11 And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.
11:12 และพระองค์ทรงเก็บโล่และหอกไว้ในหัวเมืองทั้งปวง และกระทำให้หัวเมืองเหล่านั้นแข็งแรงมาก พระองค์จึงทรงยึดยูดาห์และเบนยามินไว้ได้
11:12 And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.
11:13 และปุโรหิตกับคนเลวีซึ่งอยู่ในอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นได้เข้ามาหาพระองค์จากเขตแดนซึ่งเขาอาศัยอยู่
11:13 And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
11:14 เพราะคนเลวีละทิ้งทุ่งหญ้าและที่บ้านซึ่งเขายึดถือเป็นกรรมสิทธิ์และมายังยูดาห์และเยรูซาเล็ม เพราะเยโรโบอัมและโอรสของพระองค์ได้ขับไล่เขาทั้งหลายออกจากตำแหน่งปุโรหิตของพระเยโฮวาห์
11:14 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the LORD:
11:15 และพระองค์ทรงแต่งตั้งปุโรหิตของพระองค์ขึ้นสำหรับปูชนียสถานสูงทั้งหลาย และสำหรับเมษปิศาจ และสำหรับรูปลูกวัวซึ่งพระองค์ทรงสร้างขึ้น
11:15 And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
11:16 และบรรดาผู้ที่ปักใจแสวงหาพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอลก็ติดตามเขาทั้งหลายมาจากตระกูลทั้งปวงของอิสราเอลยังเยรูซาเล็ม เพื่อถวายสัตวบูชาต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งบรรพบุรุษของเขาทั้งหลาย
11:16 And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.
11:17 เขาทั้งหลายได้เสริมกำลังให้ราชอาณาจักรของยูดาห์ และได้กระทำให้เรโหโบอัมโอรสของซาโลมอนเข้มแข็งอยู่ได้สามปี เพราะเขาทั้งหลายดำเนินอยู่สามปีในวิถีของดาวิดและซาโลมอน
11:17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
11:18 เรโหโบอัมทรงรับมาหะลัทธิดาของเยรีโมทโอรสของดาวิดเป็นมเหสี และอาบีฮาอิลบุตรสาวของเอลีอับบุตรชายเจสซี
11:18 And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
11:19 และพระนางก็ประสูติโอรสให้พระองค์คือ เยอูช เชมาริยาห์ และศาฮัม
11:19 Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.
11:20 ภายหลังพระองค์ก็ทรงรับมาอาคาห์ธิดาของอับซาโลม ผู้ซึ่งประสูติ อาบียาห์ อัททัย ศีศา และเชโลมิทให้พระองค์
11:20 And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
11:21 เรโหโบอัมทรงรักมาอาคาห์ธิดาของอับซาโลมมากกว่ามเหสีและนางสนมของพระองค์ทั้งสิ้น (พระองค์มีมเหสีสิบแปดองค์และนางสนมหกสิบคนและให้กำเนิดโอรสยี่สิบแปดองค์และธิดาหกสิบองค์)
11:21 And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
11:22 และเรโหโบอัมทรงแต่งตั้งให้อาบียาห์โอรสของมาอาคาห์เป็นโอรสองค์ใหญ่ ให้เป็นประมุขท่ามกลางพี่น้องของตน เพราะพระองค์ทรงตั้งพระทัยจะให้ท่านเป็นกษัตริย์
11:22 And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
11:23 และพระองค์ทรงจัดการอย่างฉลาด และแจกจ่ายบรรดาโอรสของพระองค์ไปทั่วแผ่นดินทั้งสิ้นของยูดาห์และของเบนยามิน ในหัวเมืองที่มีป้อมทั้งสิ้น และพระองค์ประทานเสบียงอาหารให้อย่างอุดม และพระองค์ทรงประสงค์มเหสีมากมาย
11:23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
