12:1 ต่อมาเมื่อราชอาณาจักรของเรโหโบอัมตั้งมั่นคงและแข็งแรงแล้ว พระองค์ทรงทอดทิ้งพระราชบัญญัติของพระเยโฮวาห์เสีย และอิสราเอลทั้งปวงก็ทิ้งพร้อมกับพระองค์ด้วย
12:1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.
12:2 อยู่มาในปีที่ห้าแห่งกษัตริย์เรโหโบอัม เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้ละเมิดต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ ชิชักกษัตริย์แห่งอียิปต์เสด็จขึ้นมาสู้รบเยรูซาเล็ม
12:2 And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,
12:3 มีรถรบหนึ่งพันสองร้อยคันและพลม้าหกหมื่นคน และพลผู้มากับพระองค์จากอียิปต์นับไม่ถ้วนคือ ชาวลิบนี คนสุคีอิม และคนเอธิโอเปีย
12:3 With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
12:4 และพระองค์ทรงยึดหัวเมืองที่มีป้อมของยูดาห์และมายังเยรูซาเล็ม
12:4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
12:5 แล้วเชไมอาห์ผู้พยากรณ์ได้มาเฝ้าเรโหโบอัมและบรรดาเจ้านายแห่งยูดาห์ ผู้มาประชุมกันอยู่ที่เยรูซาเล็มด้วยเรื่องชิชัก และกล่าวแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าได้ละทิ้งเรา เราจึงได้ละทิ้งเจ้าให้อยู่ในมือของชิชัก"
12:5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.
12:6 แล้วเจ้านายแห่งอิสราเอลและกษัตริย์ได้ถ่อมตนลงและกล่าวว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงชอบธรรมแล้ว"
12:6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.
12:7 เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเห็นว่าเขาทั้งหลายถ่อมตัวลง พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ได้มาถึงเชไมอาห์ว่า "เขาทั้งหลายได้ถ่อมตัวลงแล้ว เราจึงจะไม่ทำลายเขา แต่เราจะประสาทการช่วยให้พ้นแก่เขาบ้าง และพระพิโรธของเราจะไม่เทลงมาเหนือเยรูซาเล็มโดยมือของชิชัก
12:7 And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
12:8 อย่างไรก็ดีเขาทั้งหลายต้องเป็นผู้รับใช้ของชิชัก เพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะได้ทราบความแตกต่างระหว่างการรับใช้เรา และรับใช้ราชอาณาจักรทั้งหลายของแผ่นดินโลก"
12:8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
12:9 ชิชักกษัตริย์แห่งอียิปต์จึงขึ้นมาต่อสู้เยรูซาเล็ม พระองค์ทรงเก็บเอาทรัพย์สินแห่งพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และทรัพย์สมบัติในพระราชวัง พระองค์ทรงเก็บเอาไปทุกอย่าง พระองค์ทรงเก็บเอาโล่ทองคำซึ่งซาโลมอนทรงสร้างไว้นั้นไปด้วย
12:9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
12:10 และกษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมทรงทำโล่ทองสัมฤทธิ์ขึ้นแทน และได้มอบไว้ในมือของทหารรักษาพระองค์ ผู้เฝ้าทวารพระราชวัง
12:10 Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king's house.
12:11 และกษัตริย์เสด็จเข้าไปในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์เมื่อไร ทหารรักษาพระองค์ก็มาถือโล่นั้น แล้วนำกลับไปเก็บไว้ในห้องทหารรักษาพระองค์ตามเดิม
12:11 And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.
12:12 และเมื่อพระองค์ทรงถ่อมพระองค์ลง พระพิโรธของพระเยโฮวาห์ก็หันไปเสียจากพระองค์ มิได้ทำลายพระองค์อย่างสิ้นเชิง ยิ่งกว่านั้นอีกสภาพการณ์ก็ยังดีอยู่ในยูดาห์
12:12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.
12:13 กษัตริย์เรโหโบอัมจึงสถาปนาพระองค์ขึ้นในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มและทรงครอบครอง เมื่อเรโหโบอัมทรงเริ่มครอบครองนั้นมีพระชนมายุสี่สิบเอ็ดพรรษา และพระองค์ทรงครอบครองสิบเจ็ดปีในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม อันเป็นเมืองซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเลือกสรรไว้จากตระกูลต่างๆทั้งสิ้นของอิสราเอล เพื่อจะตั้งพระนามของพระองค์ไว้ที่นั่น พระมารดาของพระองค์ทรงพระนามว่านาอามาห์คนอัมโมน
12:13 So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.
12:14 และพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำการชั่วร้าย เพราะพระองค์ไม่ตั้งพระทัยของพระองค์ที่จะแสวงหาพระเยโฮวาห์
12:14 And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.
12:15 ส่วนพระราชกิจของเรโหโบอัม ตั้งแต่ต้นจนสุดท้าย มิได้บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือของเชไมอาห์ผู้พยากรณ์ และของอิดโดผู้ทำนายตามแบบพงศาวดารหรือ มีสงครามเรื่อยไปอยู่ระหว่างเรโหโบอัมและเยโรโบอัม
12:15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
12:16 และเรโหโบอัมก็ล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และเขาก็ฝังพระศพไว้ในนครดาวิด และอาบียาห์ราชโอรสของพระองค์ได้ขึ้นครอบครองแทนพระองค์
12:16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.
