3:1 เรากำลังจะแนะนำตัวเราเองหรือ หรือว่าเราต้องการหนังสือแนะนำตัวให้แก่พวกท่านเหมือนอย่างคนบางคนหรือ เราต้องการหนังสือแนะนำตัวจากพวกท่านหรือ
3:1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
3:2 ท่านเองเป็นหนังสือของเราจารึกไว้ที่ดวงใจของเรา ให้คนทั้งปวงได้รู้และได้อ่าน
3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3:3 ท่านปรากฏเป็นหนังสือของพระคริสต์ซึ่งเราเป็นผู้ปรนนิบัติ และได้เขียนไว้ มิใช่ด้วยน้ำหมึก แต่ด้วยพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์ และมิได้เขียนไว้ที่แผ่นศิลา แต่เขียนไว้ที่แผ่นดวงใจมนุษย์
3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
3:4 และเรามีความไว้ใจในพระเจ้าโดยพระคริสต์อย่างนั้น
3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
3:5 มิใช่เราจะคิดถือว่าสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดเกิดจากความสามารถของเราเอง แต่ว่าความสามารถของเรามาจากพระเจ้า
3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
3:6 พระองค์จึงทรงโปรดประทานให้เราสามารถเป็นผู้ปฏิบัติได้ตามพันธสัญญาใหม่ มิใช่ตามตัวอักษร แต่ตามพระวิญญาณ ด้วยว่าตัวอักษรนั้นประหารให้ตาย แต่พระวิญญาณนั้นประทานชีวิต
3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
3:7 แต่ถ้าการปฏิบัติที่นำไปถึงความตายตามตัวอักษรซึ่งได้เขียนและจารึกไว้ที่แผ่นศิลานั้น ยังมีรัศมี จนชนชาติอิสราเอลไม่สามารถจ้องมองหน้าของโมเสสได้เพราะรัศมีจากใบหน้าของท่านซึ่งเป็นรัศมีที่กำลังเสื่อมสูญไป
3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
3:8 ดังนั้นการปฏิบัติตามพระวิญญาณจะไม่มีรัศมียิ่งกว่านั้นอีกหรือ
3:8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
3:9 เพราะว่าถ้าการรับใช้สำหรับปรับโทษยังมีรัศมี การรับใช้สำหรับความชอบธรรมก็ยิ่งมีรัศมีมากกว่านั้นอีก
3:9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
3:10 อันที่จริงรัศมีซึ่งได้ทรงประทานให้นั้นก็อับแสงไปแล้ว เพราะถูกรัศมีอันเลิศประเสริฐนั้นได้ส่องข่มเสียหมด
3:10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
3:11 เพราะถ้าสิ่งที่ได้จางไปยังเคยมีรัศมีถึงเพียงนั้น สิ่งซึ่งจะดำรงอยู่ก็จะมีรัศมีมากยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก
3:11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
3:12 เมื่อเรามีความหวังอย่างนั้นแล้ว เราจึงกล้ามากขึ้นที่จะพูด
3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
3:13 และไม่เหมือนโมเสสที่เอาผ้าคลุมหน้าไว้ เพื่อไม่ให้ชนอิสราเอลเพ่งดูความเสื่อมของรัศมีที่ค่อยๆจางไปนั้น
3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
3:14 แต่จิตใจของเขาก็มืดบอดไป เพราะตลอดมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ เมื่อเขาอ่านพันธสัญญาเดิม ผ้าคลุมนั้นยังคงอยู่มิได้เปิดออก แต่ผ้าคลุมนั้นได้เปิดออกแล้วโดยพระคริสต์
3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
3:15 แต่ว่าตลอดมาถึงทุกวันนี้ ขณะใดที่เขาอ่านคำของโมเสส ผ้าคลุมนั้นก็ยังปิดบังใจของเขาไว้
3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
3:16 แต่เมื่อผู้ใดหันกลับมาหาองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ผ้าคลุมนั้นก็จะเปิดออก
3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
3:17 บัดนี้องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงเป็นพระวิญญาณนั้น และพระวิญญาณขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงอยู่ที่ไหน เสรีภาพก็มีอยู่ที่นั่น
3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
3:18 แต่เราทั้งหลายไม่มีผ้าคลุมหน้าไว้ จึงแลดูสง่าราศีขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเหมือนมองดูในกระจก และตัวเราก็เปลี่ยนไปเป็นเหมือนพระฉายขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าคือมีสง่าราศีเป็นลำดับขึ้นไป เช่นอย่างสง่าราศีที่มาจากพระวิญญาณขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
