6:1 ดาริอัสพอพระทัยที่จะทรงแต่งตั้งอุปราชหนึ่งร้อยยี่สิบคนขึ้นเหนือราชอาณาจักร เพื่อจะให้ปกครองอยู่ทั่วราชอาณาจักร
6:1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
6:2 และทรงตั้งอภิรัฐมนตรีสามคนอยู่เหนือ มีดาเนียลเป็นอภิรัฐมนตรีคนแรก เพื่อให้อุปราชรายงานติดต่อ เพื่อกษัตริย์จะมิได้ทรงขาดประโยชน์
6:2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
6:3 แล้วดาเนียลคนนี้ก็มีชื่อเสียงกว่าอภิรัฐมนตรีอื่นๆและอุปราช เพราะวิญญาณเลิศสถิตกับท่าน และกษัตริย์ก็ทรงหมายพระทัยจะทรงแต่งตั้งท่านให้ครอบครองเหนือราชอาณาจักรนั้นทั้งหมด
6:3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
6:4 อภิรัฐมนตรีและอุปราชทั้งหลายจึงหามูลเหตุฟ้องดาเนียลในเรื่องเกี่ยวกับราชอาณาจักร แต่ก็หามูลเหตุหรือความผิดไม่ได้ เพราะท่านเป็นคนสัตย์ซื่อ จะหาความพลั้งพลาดหรือความผิดในท่านมิได้เลย
6:4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
6:5 คนเหล่านี้จึงกล่าวว่า "เราจะหามูลเหตุฟ้องดาเนียลไม่ได้เลย นอกจากเราจะหาเรื่องที่เกี่ยวกับพระราชบัญญัติแห่งพระเจ้าของเขา"
6:5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
6:6 แล้วอภิรัฐมนตรีและอุปราชเหล่านี้ได้พากันเข้าเฝ้ากษัตริย์ทูลว่า "ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ดาริอัส ขอทรงพระเจริญเป็นนิตย์
6:6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
6:7 บรรดาอภิรัฐมนตรีแห่งราชอาณาจักร ทั้งข้าหลวงภาค และอุปราช มนตรีและผู้ว่าราชการเมืองทั้งหลายทั้งสิ้นได้ตกลงกันว่า กษัตริย์สมควรจะได้ทรงตรากฎหมายและออกพระราชกฤษฎีกาว่า ในสามสิบวันนี้ถ้าผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดทูลขอต่อพระเจ้าหรือมนุษย์นอกเหนือพระองค์ โอ ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ ก็ให้โยนผู้นั้นลงในถ้ำสิงโตเสีย
6:7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
6:8 โอ ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ บัดนี้ขอพระองค์ออกพระราชกฤษฎีกา และลงพระนามในหนังสือสำคัญเพื่อจะเปลี่ยนแปลงไม่ได้ ตามกฎหมายของคนมีเดียและคนเปอร์เซีย ซึ่งจะแก้ไขหาได้ไม่"
6:8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
6:9 เพราะฉะนั้นกษัตริย์ดาริอัสจึงทรงลงพระนามในหนังสือสำคัญและพระราชกฤษฎีกา
6:9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
6:10 เมื่อดาเนียลทราบว่าลงพระนามในหนังสือสำคัญนั้นแล้ว ท่านก็ไปยังเรือนของท่าน ที่มีหน้าต่างห้องชั้นบนของท่านเปิดตรงไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และท่านก็คุกเข่าลงวันละสามครั้ง อธิษฐานและโมทนาพระคุณต่อพระพักตร์พระเจ้าของท่าน ดังที่ท่านได้เคยกระทำมาแต่ก่อน
6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
6:11 แล้วคนเหล่านี้ก็ได้พากันมาและได้พบดาเนียลอธิษฐานและวิงวอนอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระเจ้าของท่าน
6:11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
6:12 แล้วเขาทั้งหลายก็เข้าไปใกล้กราบทูลต่อพระพักตร์กษัตริย์เกี่ยวด้วยพระราชกฤษฎีกาของกษัตริย์ว่า "ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ พระองค์ได้ทรงลงพระนามในพระราชกฤษฎีกาฉบับหนึ่งมิใช่หรือว่า ถ้าผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดทูลขอต่อพระเจ้าหรือมนุษย์นอกเหนือพระองค์ในสามสิบวันนี้ โอ ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ ก็ให้โยนผู้นั้นลงไปในถ้ำสิงโตเสีย" กษัตริย์ตรัสตอบว่า "เรื่องนั้นยังคงอยู่ตามกฎหมายของคนมีเดียและคนเปอร์เซียซึ่งจะแก้ไขหาได้ไม่"
6:12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
6:13 แล้วเขาจึงกราบทูลต่อพระพักตร์กษัตริย์ว่า "ดาเนียลคนนั้นในพวกที่ถูกกวาดเป็นเชลยมาจากยูดาห์ หาได้เชื่อฟังพระองค์ไม่ โอ ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ และไม่เชื่อฟังพระราชกฤษฎีกาซึ่งพระองค์ทรงลงพระนามไว้ แต่ได้ทูลขอวันละสามครั้ง"
6:13 Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
6:14 เมื่อกษัตริย์ทรงสดับถ้อยคำเหล่านี้แล้ว ก็ทรงโทมนัสยิ่งนัก และทรงตั้งพระทัยหาทางช่วยดาเนียลให้พ้น ทรงหาหนทางช่วยดาเนียลให้รอดพ้นจนถึงเวลาดวงอาทิตย์ตก
6:14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
6:15 แล้วคนเหล่านั้นก็พากันมาเข้าเฝ้ากษัตริย์และกราบทูลกษัตริย์ว่า "โอ ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ ขอพระองค์พึงทราบว่า กฎหมายของคนมีเดียและคนเปอร์เซียว่า พระราชกฤษฎีกาก็ดีหรือกฎหมายก็ดีซึ่งกษัตริย์ทรงประทับตราแล้วย่อมเปลี่ยนแปลงไม่ได้"
6:15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
6:16 แล้วกษัตริย์จึงทรงบัญชา เขาก็นำดาเนียลมาทิ้งในถ้ำสิงโต กษัตริย์ตรัสแก่ดาเนียลว่า "พระเจ้าของท่าน ผู้ซึ่งท่านปรนนิบัติอยู่เนืองนิตย์นั้น พระองค์จะทรงช่วยท่านให้รอดพ้น"
6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
6:17 แล้วเขานำศิลาก้อนหนึ่งมาปิดปากถ้ำไว้ กษัตริย์ก็ได้ทรงประทับตราของพระองค์และตราของเจ้านายของพระองค์ เพื่อว่าจะไม่มีสิ่งใดอันเกี่ยวกับดาเนียลเปลี่ยนแปลงไป
6:17 And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
6:18 แล้วกษัตริย์ก็เสด็จกลับพระราชวัง ทรงอดพระกระยาหารตลอดคืนนั้น ไม่ให้นำเครื่องดนตรีอันใดมาหน้าพระที่ และบรรทมไม่หลับ
6:18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
6:19 พอเช้าตรู่ กษัตริย์ก็ลุกขึ้นรีบเสด็จไปยังถ้ำสิงโต
6:19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
6:20 เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้ถ้ำนั้น พระองค์ก็ตรัสเรียกดาเนียลด้วยเสียงโทมนัส กษัตริย์ตรัสกับดาเนียลว่า "โอ ดาเนียล ผู้รับใช้ของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์อยู่ พระเจ้าของท่านซึ่งท่านปรนนิบัติอยู่เนืองนิตย์นั้น ทรงสามารถที่จะช่วยท่านให้พ้นจากสิงโตได้แล้วหรือ"
6:20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
6:21 แล้วดาเนียลกราบทูลกษัตริย์ว่า "โอ ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ ขอทรงพระเจริญเป็นนิตย์
6:21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
6:22 พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ทรงใช้ทูตสวรรค์ของพระองค์มาปิดปากสิงโตไว้ มันมิได้ทำอันตรายแก่ข้าพระองค์ เพราะพระองค์ทรงเห็นว่าข้าพระองค์ไร้ความผิดต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ โอ ข้าแต่กษัตริย์ ข้าพระองค์มิได้กระทำผิดประการใดต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ด้วย"
6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
6:23 ฝ่ายกษัตริย์ก็โสมนัสในพระทัยเป็นล้นพ้น และทรงบัญชาให้นำดาเนียลขึ้นมาจากถ้ำ เขาจึงเอาดาเนียลขึ้นมาจากถ้ำ ไม่ปรากฏว่ามีอันตรายอย่างไรบนตัวท่านเลย เพราะท่านได้เชื่อในพระเจ้าของท่าน
6:23 Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
6:24 แล้วกษัตริย์ทรงบัญชาให้นำคนเหล่านั้นที่ฟ้องดาเนียลมาโยนทิ้งในถ้ำสิงโต ทั้งตัวเขา บุตรทั้งหลายของเขา และภรรยาของเขาทั้งหลายด้วย และก่อนที่เขาตกลงไปถึงพื้นถ้ำ สิงโตก็ได้ฟัดเขาอยู่เสียแล้ว และหักกระดูกของเขาทั้งหลายเป็นชิ้นๆไป
6:24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
6:25 แล้วกษัตริย์ดาริอัสทรงมีพระราชสารไปถึงบรรดาชนชาติ ประชาชาติทั้งปวง และภาษาทั้งหลายที่อาศัยอยู่ในพิภพทั้งสิ้นว่า "สันติสุขจงมีแก่ท่านทั้งหลายอย่างทวีคูณ
6:25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
6:26 เราออกกฤษฎีกาว่า ให้คนทั้งหลายสั่นสะท้านและยำเกรงต่อพระพักตร์พระเจ้าของดาเนียลในราชอาณาจักรของเราทั้งหมด เพราะพระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์อยู่ ทรงดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์ อาณาจักรของพระองค์จะไม่ถูกทำลาย และราชอาณาจักรของพระองค์จะดำรงจนถึงที่สุด
6:26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.
6:27 พระองค์ทรงช่วยให้พ้นและช่วยให้พ้นภัย พระองค์ทรงกระทำหมายสำคัญและการมหัศจรรย์ในฟ้าสวรรค์และบนพื้นพิภพ พระองค์คือพระผู้ช่วยดาเนียลให้พ้นจากฤทธิ์ของสิงโต"
6:27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
6:28 ดังนั้น ดาเนียลผู้นี้จึงได้เจริญขึ้นในรัชสมัยของดาริอัส และในรัชสมัยของไซรัสคนเปอร์เซีย
6:28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
