5:1 เพื่อเสรีภาพนั้นเองพระคริสต์จึงได้ทรงโปรดให้เราเป็นไทย เหตุฉะนั้นจงตั้งมั่นและอย่าเข้าเทียมแอกเป็นทาสอีกเลย
5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
5:2 ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าเปาโลขอบอกท่านว่า ถ้าท่านรับพิธีเข้าสุหนัตพระคริสต์จะทรงทำประโยชน์อะไรให้แก่ท่านไม่ได้เลย
5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
5:3 ข้าพเจ้าเป็นพยานให้ทุกคนที่รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัตทราบอีกว่า เขาถูกผูกมัดให้ประพฤติตามพระราชบัญญัติทั้งสิ้น
5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
5:4 ผู้ใดในหมู่พวกท่านที่เห็นว่าตัวเองเป็นคนชอบธรรมโดยพระราชบัญญัติ ท่านก็หล่นจากพระคุณไปเสียแล้ว พระคริสต์ย่อมไม่ได้มีผลอันใดต่อท่านเลย
5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5:5 เพราะว่า โดยพระวิญญาณและความเชื่อ เราก็รอคอยความชอบธรรมที่เราหวังว่าจะได้รับ
5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
5:6 เพราะว่าในพระเยซูคริสต์นั้น การที่รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัตหรือไม่รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัต ก็หาเกิดประโยชน์อันใดไม่ แต่ความเชื่อต่างหากซึ่งกระทำกิจด้วยความรัก
5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
5:7 ท่านวิ่งแข่งดีอยู่แล้ว ใครเล่าขัดขวางท่านไม่ให้เชื่อฟังความจริง
5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
5:8 การเกลี้ยกล่อมอย่างนี้ไม่ได้มาจากพระองค์ผู้ทรงเรียกท่านทั้งหลาย
5:8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
5:9 เชื้อขนมเพียงนิดหน่อยย่อมทำให้แป้งดิบฟูขึ้นได้ทั้งก้อน
5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
5:10 ข้าพเจ้าไว้ใจท่านในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า ท่านจะไม่เชื่อถืออย่างอื่นเลย ฝ่ายผู้ที่มารบกวนท่านนั้น จะเป็นใครก็ตามจะต้องได้รับโทษ
5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
5:11 พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ถ้าข้าพเจ้ายังเทศนาชักชวนให้รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัต เหตุใดข้าพเจ้าจึงยังถูกข่มเหงอยู่อีกเล่า ถ้าเช่นนั้นกางเขนก็ไม่ใช่สิ่งที่ให้สะดุดแล้ว
5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
5:12 ข้าพเจ้าอยากให้คนเหล่านั้นที่รบกวนท่านถูกตัดออกเสียเลย
5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
5:13 พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ที่ทรงเรียกท่านก็เพื่อให้มีเสรีภาพ อย่าเอาเสรีภาพของท่านเป็นช่องทางที่จะปล่อยตัวไปตามเนื้อหนัง แต่จงรับใช้ซึ่งกันและกันด้วยความรักเถิด
5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
5:14 เพราะว่า พระราชบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นนั้นสรุปได้เป็นคำเดียว คือว่า `จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง'
5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
5:15 แต่ถ้าท่านกัดและกินเนื้อกันและกัน จงระวังให้ดีเกรงว่าท่านจะทำให้กันและกันย่อยยับไป
5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
5:16 แต่ข้าพเจ้าขอบอกว่า จงดำเนินชีวิตตามพระวิญญาณและท่านจะไม่สนองความต้องการของเนื้อหนัง
5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
5:17 เพราะว่าความต้องการของเนื้อหนังต่อสู้พระวิญญาณ และพระวิญญาณก็ต่อสู้เนื้อหนัง เพราะทั้งสองฝ่ายเป็นศัตรูกัน ดังนั้นสิ่งที่ท่านทั้งหลายปรารถนาทำจึงกระทำไม่ได้
5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
5:18 แต่ถ้าพระวิญญาณทรงนำท่าน ท่านก็ไม่อยู่ใต้พระราชบัญญัติ
5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
5:19 แล้วการงานของเนื้อหนังนั้นเห็นได้ชัด คือการเล่นชู้ การล่วงประเวณี การโสโครก การลามก
5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
5:20 การนับถือรูปเคารพ การนับถือพ่อมดหมอผี การเป็นศัตรูกัน การวิวาทกัน การริษยากัน การโกรธกัน การทุ่มเถียงกัน การใฝ่สูง การแตกก๊กกัน
5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
5:21 การอิจฉากัน การฆาตกรรม การเมาเหล้า การเล่นเป็นพาลเกเร และการอื่นๆในทำนองนี้อีก เหมือนที่ข้าพเจ้าได้เตือนท่านมาก่อน บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าขอเตือนท่านเหมือนกับที่เคยเตือนมาแล้วว่า คนที่ประพฤติเช่นนั้นจะไม่ได้รับอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าเป็นมรดก
5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
5:22 ฝ่ายผลของพระวิญญาณนั้นคือ ความรัก ความปลาบปลื้มใจ สันติสุข ความอดกลั้นใจ ความปรานี ความดี ความเชื่อ
5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
5:23 ความสุภาพอ่อนน้อม การรู้จักบังคับตน เรื่องอย่างนี้ไม่มีพระราชบัญญัติห้ามไว้เลย
5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
5:24 ผู้ที่เป็นของพระคริสต์ได้เอาเนื้อหนังกับความอยากและราคะตัณหาของเนื้อหนังตรึงไว้ที่กางเขนเสียแล้ว
5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
5:25 ถ้าเรามีชีวิตอยู่โดยพระวิญญาณ ก็จงดำเนินชีวิตตามพระวิญญาณด้วย
5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
5:26 เราอย่าถือตัว อย่ายั่วโทสะกัน และอย่าอิจฉาริษยากันเลย
5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
