23:1 แล้วโยบตอบว่า
23:1 Then Job answered and said,
23:2 "คำร้องทุกข์ของข้าก็ขมขื่นในวันนี้ด้วย การที่ข้าถูกทุบตีก็หนักกว่าการร้องครางของข้า
23:2 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
23:3 โอ ข้าอยากทราบว่าจะพบพระองค์ได้ที่ไหน เพื่อข้าจะมาถึงพระที่นั่งของพระองค์
23:3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
23:4 ข้าจะยื่นคดีของข้าต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ และบรรจุข้อโต้แย้งให้เต็มปากข้า
23:4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
23:5 ข้าจะทราบคำตอบของพระองค์ และเข้าใจสิ่งที่พระองค์จะตรัสกับข้า
23:5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
23:6 พระองค์จะทรงโต้แย้งกับข้าด้วยฤทธานุภาพอันยิ่งใหญ่ของพระองค์หรือ เปล่าน่ะ พระองค์จะทรงให้กำลังแก่ข้า
23:6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.
23:7 ณ ที่นั่นคนเที่ยงธรรมจะสู้ความกับพระองค์ได้ และข้าจะรับการช่วยให้พ้นจากผู้พิพากษาของข้าเป็นนิตย์
23:7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
23:8 ดูเถิด ข้าเดินไปข้างหน้า แต่พระองค์มิได้ทรงสถิตที่นั่น และข้างหลัง แต่ข้าก็ไม่สังเกตเห็นพระองค์
23:8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
23:9 ข้างซ้ายมือที่พระองค์ทรงกระทำกิจ ข้าก็ไม่เห็นพระองค์ ข้างขวามือพระองค์ทรงซ่อนอยู่ ข้าหาพระองค์ไม่พบ
23:9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
23:10 ด้วยว่าพระองค์ทรงทราบทางที่ข้าไป เมื่อพระองค์ทรงทดสอบข้าแล้ว ข้าก็จะเป็นอย่างทองคำ
23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
23:11 เท้าของข้าติดรอยพระบาทของพระองค์แน่น ข้าตามมรรคาของพระองค์ และมิได้หันไปข้างๆเลย
23:11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
23:12 ข้ามิได้พรากไปจากพระบัญญัติแห่งริมพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์ ข้าตีราคาพระวจนะแห่งพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์สูงกว่าอาหารที่จำเป็นสำหรับข้า
23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
23:13 แต่พระองค์ทรงผันแปรมิได้ และผู้ใดจะหันพระองค์ได้ พระองค์มีพระประสงค์สิ่งใด พระองค์ก็ทรงกระทำสิ่งนั้น
23:13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
23:14 เพราะว่าพระองค์จะทรงกระทำสิ่งที่พระองค์ทรงกำหนดให้ข้านั้นครบถ้วน และสิ่งอย่างนั้นเป็นอันมากอยู่ในพระดำริของพระองค์
23:14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
23:15 เพราะฉะนั้นข้าจึงสะทกสะท้านต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ เมื่อข้าตรึกตรอง ข้าก็ครั่นคร้ามต่อพระองค์
23:15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
23:16 พระเจ้าทรงกระทำให้ใจของข้าอ่อนเปลี้ย องค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ได้กระทำให้ข้าสะทกสะท้าน
23:16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
23:17 เพราะข้ามิได้ถูกตัดขาดก่อนความมืดมาถึง และพระองค์มิได้ทรงปิดบังความมืดทึบไว้จากหน้าข้า"
23:17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
